Accessibility statement
How we build precisetaxesrva.com to be usable by everyone, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us about a problem.
Last updated 7 October 2026 (draft)
Draft, review pending. Windo Creative drafted this statement; Precise Taxes RVA has not reviewed it yet.
We want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification or other assistive technology.
The standard we aim for
We build and check the site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard most widely used in the United States.
What we do
- Every page has a clear heading structure, landmarks and a “Skip to content” link.
- Everything can be used with a keyboard, and the focused item always has a visible outline.
- Text meets the WCAG contrast ratio of 4.5:1, and larger text at least 3:1.
- Form fields have labels, and errors are explained in words next to the field.
- Animation is kept to a minimum, and it stops if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Phone numbers, addresses and hours are written as text, never as images.
- The calculators work with a keyboard and announce their results to screen readers.
- Before each release we check every page with automated validators and test the main pages by keyboard.
What we know still needs work
- The map on the contact page is provided by Google and loads only when you ask for it. Google’s map is not fully accessible; the address and a link to directions are always written out beside it.
- The street-map drawing used as decoration in the design is hidden from screen readers because it carries no information.
