Working at Precise Taxes RVA

We're a small office on Hull Street Road in Midlothian. Five of us do the payroll, bookkeeping and tax work for our clients, and we're hiring one more.

What it's like here

Clients deal with the same people from one year to the next, so the person who prepares a return usually knows the client and their history. You'd be part of that from your first season.

The work runs all year. January to April is busy with personal returns, and the rest of the year is business returns, payroll and planning.

Experienced tax preparer, full-time

Full-time · In the office, Midlothian, VA

You'd prepare individual and small-business returns, meet clients in person and by phone, and help keep the office running during tax season.

What you'd do

  • Prepare individual returns, including returns with rental, self-employment and investment income.
  • Prepare small-business returns with the rest of the team.
  • Meet clients to go through their documents and explain their return.
  • Answer client questions by phone and email during the season.

What we're looking for

  • Several seasons of experience preparing individual returns.
  • A current IRS preparer registration.
  • Care with details and the patience to explain things plainly.
